Clifton’s world-famous pristine white beaches lapped by the azure waves of the Atlantic Ocean are flanked by the beautiful homes of the rich and famous on one side and luxurious yachts anchored in the bay on the other – giving the bay a romantic Mediterranean ambience. This exquisite setting is backed by Lions Head and the majestic Twelve Apostles Mountains.

All the beaches are reached by stairs down from the road where parking is available.
The easiest to reach is 4th Beach (view photo) (closest to Camps Bay) where apart from additional parking, there is a superb restaurant, kiosks on the beach, as well as restrooms, deckchair and umbrella hire. The Clifton Surf Lifesaving Club is situated on this beach and is therefore a very busy beach. It is enjoyed by families on vacation and in particular, groups of local inhabitants who meet on the beach after work for sunset picnics.

Third Beach is also quite busy, frequented by the the young and beautiful people, from volley-ball players to models. The steps down to 1st and 2nd Beaches (view photo) are a bit longer and the beaches are therefore quieter. The waves are a bit bigger, but the views and surroundings are just as good. The beaches at Clifton are all completely sheltered from the wind, even when the notorious South Easter is blowing.

Villa Vereguth and Villa Davarrio Riccio are above the beach road on the slopes of the mountain, but both in walking distance from these beaches and although the area gets very busy in the summer season, these two exquisite houses are in a quiet cul-de-sac (view photo) far from the madding crowd.
