Wine Routes Once a tiny seaside village, Camps Bay has become the playground of the Rich and Famous in South Africa. The slopes of the majestic Twelve Apostles mountains are now covered by beautiful villas and exquisitely luxurious homes with views of azure seas and a palm-tree -lined pristine white beach. Although fairly built-up the area has several green tracts of land that are demarcated nature reserves, with waterfalls coming down the ravines from the mountain. The ever popular promenade is lined with Cafes and Restaurants, some of which are rated the best in the country. Other outlets on offer are boutiques, a small supermarket, a fishmonger and a good delicatessen. At street level, the beautiful beach is a wonderful place for a leisurely stroll, a Mediterranean suntan, or a vigorous game of volley-ball. Sunsets are sublime over the sea at Camps Bay from almost any viewpoint and once night falls, the promenade is a bustle of activity with holidaymakers stepping out to one of the many fine dining experiences on offer. A brisk morning walk along the beach road takes you to the famous Clifton Beaches – where it is advisable to sunbathe if the wind is being persistent in Camps Bay. The sidewalk from Camps Bay to Clifton is at most times frequented by fit and healthy people jogging or walking the most scenic route in the world. The Bloomberg Apartments Strathmore Views, The Retreat, Houghton Steps, Sedgemoor Views and Bloomberg Camps Bay are in walking distance of the promenade and beach offering a combination of secluded peace and close proximity to the hub of activity. |
