Bloomberg Accommodation

The Bloomberg Group was established in 1995. While Bloomberg villa and apartment rentals are what the Group is renowned for in Cape Town, the core business initially involved Medical Practice Management whereby the Company controlled and ran the day-to-day practices of surgeons and specialist consultants. This business expanded to be the largest of its kind in South Africa and was sold off in the early part of 2003. The Group has retained its short term financing of Medical Practices business.

In early 1996, the Bloomberg Orthopedic & Neurosciences division began distributing orthopaedic products in the Western Cape. This grew into a national operation, with the exclusive distribution of products including Johnson & Johnson and other well-known household brand names. Besides distribution of imported medical products, the company then begun to manufacture these products to supply the local market and will shortly begin exporting them. Bloomberg Orthopedic & Neurosciences is a leader in its field.

Bloomberg Poperty Group

The construction and development division, Bloomberg Property Group, began in 1996 with the building and development of various medical facilities. With time, this aspect of the Group grew into building and developing more general commercial buildings. The Group also owns a number of rent producing commercial properties. As the commercial market lost its buoyancy, the Group turned to developing and building housing in the Western Cape. Over the last four years, the Group has focused on the development of luxury housing in the area between Bantry Bay and Camps Bay. Today, the Group is the largest strategic luxury housing developer in this area. The emphasis in this division is developing luxurious lifestyles - hence the key words that describe the products of the division, namely "Lifestyle Developments".

In the course of its development business, the Group has retained a number of the Bloomberg luxury villas and apartment blocks it has built. This has led to the establishment of its new division, which runs short-term luxury letting to holidaymakers and the film industry. Many of the purchasers of the Bloomberg Group’s developments have joined in the investment art of the rental business and have become partners in many of the luxury rental projects.
